Description
1969 was the last year of the Excalibur Series 1 SSK Cycle-fender roadster. With the 327
ci, 300hp
Corvette engine and a curb weight of around 2500 lb, It was quite a performer.
While all series I roadsters are rare,
those with automatic transmissions are extremely scarce.
Almost Series I roadsters had 4 speed manual transmissions.
With the Borg Warner automatic, one can shift through the 3 speeds manually or leave the lever on 3 all the time.
The tach and all other gauges work , but some of the Stewart Warner gauges were replaced with non-originals (as shown in the pictures).
Engine and trans very good.
Body and frame straight and solid
Seats , rug and dash pad are good.
Many chromed parts replaced with stainless steel.
I‘ve owned it for 20 years.
I replaced the front brakes calipers and pads, and the rear brake cylinders and shoes.
It still has brake issues when it sits for a while.
I also replaced the front shocks.
The car drives ok, but all the rubber bushings could stand to be replaced.
I have the control arm bushings, but I can’t replace them myself.
