    Description

This is a fully restored 1974 Kawasaki Z1 A. I have a clean and clear NC Title in my name. The bike was completely disassembled and restored using original parts where possible with Z1 Parts.net and Z1 Enterprises reproductions for the rest.
The motor and correct early style 74 carburetors were restored by Clay Stockdall of Paola, KS. It was completely disassembled (see photos), then refinished to OE standards using NOS and new or re-plated OE correct hardware. Dyna electronic points replaced the originals. The regulator and rectifier have been replaced with a combination electronic one. It has a CTEC monitor pigtail on the battery for easy status and trickle charging.
The switches, and gauges were restored by Clay Stockdall of Paola, KS. I have the odometer left unchanged from its previous reading when its restored. True Mileage is Unknown.
The rear wheel and forks were restored by Howard Boone of Birmingham, AL. The front wheel is original and unrestored so it has some minor spoke oxidation and the rim has a pit or two. The right fork lower has a gouge in it that’s deep and was not removed completely.
The frame and metal parts have been powder coated.
The paint set is a new Doremi root beer brown and orange. The pictures show the flake coming out in the sun.
It has the correct MITO tool kit and pouch, missing the Allen wrench but does have a feeler gauge. It has a repo manual and document tool tray with the wrong sticker in the tray.
The 6mm and 8mm standard hardware is stainless steel scuffed to appear Zinc plated. The brake rod and hardware are stainless.
The 10mm, 12mm and up were Zinc re-plated along with any unique smaller hardware. The torque link and brake actuator lever were re-chromed.
The exhaust, seat, air box, wire harnesses and many other parts are from Z1 Parts.net.
The grab rail has been replaced by a pair of repo newer style small grab handles.
I have ridden less than 10 miles since restoration was complete. The VIN, build date, and parts date codes are listed on a sheet in the pictures section.
