    Description

Selling my big bore GPZ after 30 years of ownership, I built this to my specs back in 1991-1992, I bet I have not put 1000 miles on it. It has not been ridden for a few years, but it starts up easy and runs good, just had it running a week ago. I would suggest changing all fluids, maybe a new battery (I leave it on a Tender all the time, so not sure how it does if not), and I noticed one of the front calipers hanging up slightly.
I completely disassembled the bike in '91, painted the frame, went through everything, suspension, brakes, new tires (oops, those should be replaced), wiring, and the engine and transmission. I did not repaint the bodywork, it is still the original silver and still looks good. I installed a Corbin seat.
Engine-wise, cases were bored for the 1260cc Wiseco pistons, I used APE studs to hold the cases together, Falicon did all their tricks to the crankshaft, Cycle-Rama back-cut the transmission. Clutch was all new Kawasaki OEM plates with Barnett springs. I bored and sleeved the stock cylinders to accept the Wiseco 1260cc piston kit (10.25 c.r.), then sent the cylinder head to Cycle-Rama for porting (they did the head on my dragbike that ran 9:00's). Replaced all the buckets with APE (stock ones crack), oversize stainless steel valves, HD springs, Megacycle .435 cams.
Carburetors are Mikuni RS38 Flatslides, and the exhaust is a Kerker, all new at the time of the build.
The bike is crazy fun to ride, it wheelies like a dirt bike in first gear, it is really tuned for more mid range than top end, I am sure if you re-degreed the cams you could shift the power to the higher RPM ranges. As it is, the roll-on acceleration is awe, I used to run it from 60-120+ in top gear all the time as it was so fun!
I have always ran race fuel in this, I tried pump gas once and it spark knocked.
I have a clean, Illinois title in my name to sign over to the new owner.
Please feel free to ask any questions, and contact me either before the auction end on within a few hours to sort out payments and pick-up. I will ship, but buyer must arrange their own shipping.
