Edo Period Wood Carved Lacquered Japanese INRO 5 Section Pill Case

$ 73.89

  • All returns accepted: ReturnsNotAccepted
  • Condition: The condition is very good as seen in my photos. The sections fit tight for being hand made where you have to move the section back and forth to remove each section. There is one small hole which I think was made by the original owner as seen in my last two photos. It appears to be made to dispense without taking the section completely off. Please view all my photos as they are better than words to describe condition.

    Description
    Up for buy it now is a wood carved Japanese INRO five section case.  This was used to carry medicine, pills or small items.  I believe the owner to be male because of the carvings of male activities.  One side has someone selling goods to a traveler with a backpack.   And the other side is of game playing and socializing.  The hand carving is very detailed as craftsmanship from the Edo or older period is known for.  The inside is lacquered with gold flake which is still visible in some places.  The repaired nicks, chips and damage were covered with gold.  All other nicks or chips you see not covered were done after the original owner.  The cord, ojime (bead) and netsuke to complete this item is missing.  I do not offer returns on any of my items as you are guaranteed satisfaction per eBay’s stated return policy.  If you have any questions on this or any other question please email.
