NEW IN BOX! MoMA Exclusive: Sure to cause a stir at your next pool party, this inflatable phone-shaped design by Third Drawer Down, and specially approved by the artist, features an enlarged selfie taken by Cindy Sherman. The image accidentally morphed with another photo in her device. The result is this strange, yet evocative image. “I took this photo to send to someone who knitted the hat for me (Helene Winer of Metro Pictures gallery, actually),” explains Sherman. But, I also wanted to play around with some apps that I'd just started using and accidentally pressed a button that added some old setting onto this image. I thought it was a nice accident so I kept it.Printed with silk-screen gold metallic backing, this design can be used as a functional pool float or sculptural object. It comes in a swim bag with the artist’s motto “I’d rather be swimming.”

Designed to filter river water through its walls, the pool will allow New Yorkers to swim in clean, chemical-free water while restoring 600,000 gallons of clean river water daily. + POOL strives to reclaim the river as a recreational resource for the city, while educating the public about issues affecting water quality. Artist & swimmer Cindy Sherman has been a supporter of + POOL since 2016.
