Description
Vintage CPR Canadian Pacific Railway Sterling Silver 4-Pint Water Pitcher. Hallmarked on the bottom "Newport Sterling 31373 4 Pint" & "P.Revere Reproduction". "Newport Sterling" is a tradename used by Gorham. "P.Revere Reproduction" means it's is reproduction of a Paul Revere design. Paul Revere was a famous American silversmith from the 18th Century. This piece would have been made by Gorham in the USA, estimated age is approx. mid-20th century. There is a period monogram on the side which reads "C.P.R.". Not sure if this was from a train, one of the CPR hotels, made for presentation, or corporate office use. Generally CPR hollowware used on trains is silverplate because of it's durability. Size of the picture is 4-Pints. It measures approx. 7-1/4" in diameter (outside of handle to spout). Opening is approx. 4" in diameter. Height is approx. 7-1/4". Weight is approx. 521 grams. This item is used and is in excellent condition, especially considering age and use. On close inspection I have noted approx. four small subtle dents, nothing serious. I have pointed out one in the photos. Typical light surface wear and does have lots of tarnish. It could use a good polish and buff. There are no serious dings or dents. There are no breaks or repairs. Shipping to USA & Canada only. Please see photos for more details. My Inventory # B2
